Hot-dip galvanized cable tray is cleaned in an aqueous solution of ammonium chloride or zinc chloride, or a mixed solution of ammonium chloride and zinc chloride, and then immersed in molten zinc at about 500°C, so that a zinc layer of 30-50um adheres to the surface of the "black material" angle steel, thereby achieving the purpose of anti-corrosion. Hot-dip galvanized cable trays are commonly used in curtain walls, building steel structures, power towers, railways, highway protection, marine components, substation ancillary facilities, light industry, etc. The process of cold galvanized angle steel also involves first chemically cleaning the surface of the "black material" angle steel and then placing it into the electroplating solution, with the remaining processing steps being the same as those for hot-dip galvanized cable trays. The electroplating solution contains zinc oxide. One electrode of direct current is connected to the "black material" angle steel, and the other electrode is connected to a zinc plate placed in the electroplating solution. When the current is applied, zinc is displaced onto the steel surface in a free molecular state, forming a zinc layer. The manufacturing process of hot-dip galvanized cable trays differs from that of cold galvanized angle steel by only one step, but the anti-corrosion performance of angle steel after hot-dip galvanizing is better than that of cold galvanized angle steel. The thickness of the zinc layer on cold galvanized angle steel is generally only 20-30μm, while the zinc layer thickness of hot-dip galvanized cable trays is above 80μm. However, due to different processes, the thickness of the coating also varies, and the accurate value should be based on test data.
