XQJ Cable Tray
Dali Electric recommends
(I) Scope of Application
The XQJ series is suitable for power cables with voltage below 10 kV, as well as control cables, lighting wiring, and other indoor and outdoor overhead cable trenches and tunnels.
(II) Structural Features and Safety
The XQJ series features complete varieties, wide application, high strength, low cost, simple construction, flexible wiring, standard installation, and beautiful appearance, bringing convenience to your technical improvements, cable expansion, and maintenance and inspection.
The installation of the XQJ series can be adapted to local conditions. It can be installed overhead along process pipelines; suspended from floors or beams; side-mounted on indoor and outdoor walls, columns, tunnels, and cable trench walls; and can also be installed on outdoor columns or supports. For large multi-layer cable trays installed by lifting or vertically, it is recommended to use I-beam columns with symmetrical installation on both sides.
The XQJ series can be installed horizontally or vertically; can have corners, T-shaped, or cross-shaped branches; and can be adjusted in width and height.
(III) Layer Arrangement for Cables
1. In the layer arrangement, weak current control cables are placed on the top layer. Then general control cables, low-voltage power cables, and high-voltage power cables are arranged in descending order (see table below). This arrangement is conducive to shielding interference, cooling of power cables, and convenient construction.
2. The distance between layers is:
Control cables ≥200mm
Power cables ≥200mm
Mechanized cable laying ≥400mm
| Layer | Cable Purpose | Type and Model Used | Cross-section |
| Upper
Lower |
Computer cables | Trough type with shielding cover or B-type combined type XQJ-C or XQJ-ZH-01B | ![]() |
| Shielded control cables | Same as above | ||
| General control cables | Tray type, A-type combined type XQJ-P or XQJ-ZH-01A | ||
| Low-voltage power cables | Ladder type, tray type, A-type combined type XQJ-T1, P, ZH-01A | ||
| High-voltage power cables | Ladder type with protective cover, A-type combined type XQJ-T, ZH-01A |
(IV) Size Selection and Calculation
Calculation of total load G
G total = n1q1 + n2q2 + n3q3
Where: q1, q2, q3, ... are the weight per unit length of each cable (Kg/m)
n1, n2, n3, ... are the number of corresponding cables
G should be less than the allowable load of the cable tray
When installed outdoors or with a protective cover, factors such as water load and wind load should also be considered.
IV. Precautions
1. For the maximum load of the DQJ type device, the support spacing should be less than the allowable load and support span.
2. When selecting the width, some spare space should be reserved for future cable addition.
3. When there are few power cables and control cables, they can be installed in one tray, but a partition should be used to separate the power cables from the control cables.
4. When the cable tray is installed horizontally, the connection points between trays should be placed as much as possible at about 1/4 of the span. Horizontally routed cables should be fixed every about 2 meters, and vertically routed cables should be fixed every about 1.5 meters.
5. The device should have reliable grounding. If the cable tray is used as the grounding conductor, the ends of each layer of the tray should be connected (in parallel) with 16mm2 soft copper wire to the main grounding conductor. For long distances, grounding should be done every 30-50 meters.
6. In addition to the shielding protective cover, when installed outdoors, a protective cover should be added on the top layer to prevent sun and rain damage.
If welding installation is required, the weld thickness around the weldment should not be less than the thickness of the base material, and the weld must be anti-corrosion treated.
