FRP sculptures are mainly divided into two categories according to what the sculpture-making master told us: one is the wet method, and the other is the dry method. The wet method is the wet contact type, and the dry method is dry pressure molding. If classified by process characteristics, they can be further divided into many types, such as hand lay-up molding, compression molding, etc., and the hand lay-up molding includes many methods. There are many intricacies in making sculptures. After the sculpture is completed, we need to pay attention to maintenance. Because any FRP sculpture cannot withstand many years of sun exposure and wind erosion, and then it may fade in color and become fragile and prone to cracking. Therefore, maintenance is needed every few years to keep the sculpture bright and extend its lifespan.

 

We recommend placing FRP sculptures indoors because being indoors can avoid direct sunlight and also avoid wind and rain. However, if the original intention was to place the sculpture outdoors, it will naturally be affected by these factors. If exposed to strong sunlight, we suggest appropriately spraying some water on the surface so that its surface temperature will not be too high. If it is excessively exposed to sunlight, the baking paint coating is prone to cracking over time. When installing FRP sculptures, it is recommended to install a base underneath, because if directly in contact with the soil outdoors, we know that when it rains, the soil will be very damp. If it is damp, it will also affect the sculpture itself, making it prone to moisture and mold, and prolonged dampness can also make the sculpture's body material soft.
