Low Voltage Busway Installation Rules, How to Maintain and Care - Yangzhou Darui
Darui Electric recommends for you
Low voltage busway installation rules:
1. Low voltage. Handling and storage of busway.
Busbars must not be lifted and bundled with bare wire ropes, and must not be stacked randomly or dragged on the ground. No other operations should be performed on the enclosure. Multi-point lifting and forklift transportation should be used to avoid damaging the busbars. Busway should be stored in a dry, clean warehouse free from corrosive gas pollution. Flexible filler gaskets should be sandwiched between the upper and lower busbar conduits and properly stored.
2. Installation trend of low voltage busway.
Each batch of busway delivered should be accompanied by a trend diagram and a detailed set of trend tables. All busway sections have corresponding branch and section numbers, and they should be installed sequentially according to the numbers.
3. Inspection of busway before installation.
Check whether the busway enclosure is complete and undamaged, check whether the bolts of the busway enclosure are loose, and ensure reliable bolt connections; check whether the busway joints are closed and locked; measure insulation resistance with a 500-volt megohmmeter, and the resistance value for each section should not be less than 20ω.
Maintenance of busway.
Equipment with voltage can cause serious personal injury or death, so busway maintenance can only be carried out after cutting off the power supply.
1. Within 6 months after installation and use of the busway, check whether the joint connection bolts and fixed support bolts are loose. After 1 year, conduct a comprehensive inspection, and every 3 years, conduct a thorough internal and external inspection.
2. Check that the total load current does not exceed the main busway current or the design current, and check the operating temperature.
3. Before busway maintenance, check whether the busway system is de-energized! Completely cut off all power to the busway! Use a multimeter to measure the voltage of the conductors, and confirm that the busway system is not charged before performing routine maintenance. Prevent high voltage from causing serious accidents that may result in personal injury or even death to operators!
4. During maintenance, use a soft brush, vacuum cleaner, or cotton cloth to clean dust on the busway. During maintenance, pay special attention to the clamping torque and surface cleanliness of the connectors. If the structure is loose or contaminated, the resistance will increase, causing overheating, and even uneven connection surfaces may cause arcing.
5. When the busway is in operation, check whether there are leaks, water spray, potential moisture sources around the entire system, whether there are heavy objects threatening the system, whether there are heat sources affecting the temperature rise of the busway system, and check whether foreign objects have entered the busway.
6. Check whether the components of the busway system have defects and corrosion, and whether the support springs have appropriate elasticity. Replace them immediately if problems are found.
7. During long-term operation of the busway, the joint temperature rise should be tested regularly once a year. The joint temperature rise should not exceed 70K according to the GB7251 standard.
8. Check whether the insulating materials show signs of aging and whether the conductive parts show signs of melting or deformation. If phase-to-phase insulation breakdown occurs, dismantle in sections, use a withstand voltage tester to inspect section by section, find the fault, and either replace the busway or reapply insulation coating treatment.
9. Check whether the plug-in box pins of the busway system are in good contact with the busbars.
10. Before re-supplying power to the busway system, check the insulation resistance and record it.
11. After maintenance, ensure the original protection level requirements of the busway system are maintained.
The above summarizes the installation rules, maintenance, and care methods for low voltage busway, hoping to be helpful to everyone.
