Analysis and Description of the Principle of Sliding Contact Line Expansion Section

    The expansion section is designed based on the working conditions of the sliding contact line under different temperature environments, to address the power outage caused by linear deformation (profile extrusion and butting) during thermal expansion and contraction (profile shrinkage) of the sliding contact line. It consists of two movable segments directly connected in series with the main body of the sliding contact line. Its basic principle is: it is composed of relative static sliding plates and dynamic sliding plates stacked together to form a transition body that matches the cross-section of the sliding contact line body, allowing free linear movement when the ambient temperature of the sliding contact line changes. Due to the stacking of static and dynamic sliding plates, no matter how they expand or contract, they provide a linear transition surface for the carbon brush of the current collector, thereby overcoming the shortcomings of earlier expansion joints, such as narrow expansion range, difficulty for the current collector brush to cross, causing power outages, and reduced contact area leading to arcing faults.

    Since the two ends of the static and dynamic sliding plates are directly connected to the sliding line body, and two sliding guide rods are also set to guide the static and dynamic sliding plates through them, it has good coaxiality. At the same time, two flexible cables parallel to the sliding contact pieces are set above the two ends of the static and dynamic sliding plates, thereby stabilizing and increasing the current-carrying capacity of the expansion section, so that the entire sliding contact line system does not affect the rated current-carrying capacity of the whole line due to the installation of the expansion section. The expandable range of the sliding contact line expansion section can be adjusted between 0~150mm, which can absorb the expansion and contraction distance caused by the expansion coefficient when the sliding contact line guide rail body material is aluminum, the expansion point distance is 150 meters per section, and the ambient temperature ranges from -40°C to +115°C, and enable the current collector to pass smoothly without affecting the power supply quality.
