What is a Slide Wire Current Collector

The current collector, also known as the power receiver or power collector, is a sliding power receiving device for cranes. It directly conducts electrical energy to the end beam electrical box of the traveling crane through the sliding contact between the carbon brush and the multi-level copper guide rail in the slide wire, thereby achieving mobile power supply for the system.



      The current collector consists of two parts: a mechanical tension device and a collector brush that directly slides in contact with the guide rail.



       The current collector in the picture is four-level, with two carbon brushes on the front and back respectively, suitable for single-beam cranes of 1-20 tons. The matching slide wire is the most commonly used 57 (width) x 67 (height) tube series. Each crane is equipped with 2 units to avoid phase loss operation caused by wear of the carbon brushes of the crane current collector.
